SE905: FSS Basic Workshop ~ The Way of the Shaman
Instructor: Timothy Cope / Foundation of Shamanic Studies

During the Basic experiential workshop, participants are introduced to core shamanism, the universal and near-universal basic methods of the shaman to enter nonordinary reality for problem solving and healing. Particular emphasis is on the classic shamanic journey, one of the most remarkable visionary methods used by humankind to explore the hidden universe otherwise known mainly through myth and dream. Participants are initiated into shamanic journeying, aided by drumming and other techniques for experiencing the shamanic state of consciousness and for awakening dormant spiritual abilities, including connections with Nature.

Practice includes comparisons by participants of their discoveries in shamanic journeys as well as being introduced to shamanic divination and healing. They are also provided with methods for journeying to meet and study with their own individual spirit helpers in nonordinary reality, a classic step in shamanic practice. Participants learn how the journey is utilized to restore spiritual power and health, and how shamanism can be applied in contemporary daily life to help heal oneself, others, and the Planet.

Completion of this workshop qualifies participants to take more advanced FSS workshops (to be hosted by ASN in 2011 and after).   		Saturday & Sunday, March 13 & 14, 2010

Enter the world of Reiki, where the Universal Life Force, also known as; Chi, Ki, Prana, Holy Spirit, Orgone, and Huna work to bring balance and harmony to the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual bodies of human and animal. This class will merge Science and Healing through discussion of the theories of Quantum Physics, applying conscious thought and intention to healing.

Reiki is both powerful and gentle and can be used as an aid in promoting the natural healing process of all living beings. Animals are very open to the healing energy of Reiki, which can be used alone or as a complementary therapy along with traditional western and veterinary medicine.

These classes will teach you the basic concepts of working with energy. You will learn to perform exercises that will awaken you to your own electromagnetic force field. You will learn to tap into your consciousness, imagination, and intention to guide energy flow and transformation. AC114: Wisdom of the Whales

Most of us seem to have certain animal species with whom we connect much more deeply than others--animals who call to our souls in ways that no others can. This is how it is for me with the whales. They are my ancestral family and my spiritual guides, I love them beyond measure. Whether we refer to the animals with whom we have such profound relationships as our power animals, spirit guides, teachers, healers or family isn’t what’s important. What does seem to be important is our openness and willingness to enthusiastically yet humbly discern their important messages, and to apply that learning into the daily fabric of our lives.

I have been talking with the whales for twenty-one years--sometimes for my own personal guidance (or just to chat!), sometimes to serve as a translator for individuals to hear the guidance whales want to offer them, sometimes to help whales in distress, and sometimes to bring messages from the whales to groups of people. This class is an opportunity to share some of these messages as well as to help you connect personally with the whales. The second course introduces you to core shamanic healing practices of illness extraction and compassionate power retrieval. These cornerstone practices are the basis of most shamanic healing techniques. To excel in them you will need to have strong footing in non ordinary reality and be able to enlist the help of a variety of helping spirits. This course will give you experience in creating your sacred space in both realities, and will help you cross between the worlds with confidence. You will also learn to cross other spirits between the worlds as you learn to escort the dead to their families beyond.
